These are the coolest root sculptures I've seen to date. As a carpenter I see so much beauty in wood ...... Awesome.

I've seen drift wood horses before but this is pretty cool. It's nice to see the variety.

How do you protect it from rotting?

Hi there, the material is teak roots. Teak is very very strong in terms of durability against weather. It has natural preservative which prevents aging and insects.

I love your creativity with materials that most people would simply use as fire wood, or just kick out of the way while hiking. You have a very creative mind.

This is fantastic once again - I love the detail you've put in to recreate the look of fur on the neck. Keep up the awesomeness!

This is beautiful! I've seen horse sculptures with the same idea behind them in Oregon, and I think they make a fantastic addition to the wilds of the forest (or the green next to the airport...) out there. Outstanding job!

I love this one most of all your sculptures. Did you use roots or real antlers for the deer's antlers?

:iconkitzuko:
Kitzuko Featured By Owner Mar 26, 2013
That's what I wanted to know. They kind of look like their carved, which is amazing if they are. I can't imagine the time it would take to carve out the antlers and piece them together so they look like one thing.

I know normally this artist uses driftwood as-is, but I believe the antlers may be the one exception.
